USB to I²C bridge in a 5x5 mm QFN
The Infineon CY7C65215-32LTXI is a USB 2.0 to I²C bridge controller that converts a USB host port into an I²C master interface. It also includes a UART interface for serial legacy device support. It comes in a 32-VFQFN exposed-pad package measuring 5x5 mm, making it suitable for space-constrained embedded designs that need a USB-connected I²C bus for sensor hubs, GPIO expanders, or configuration EEPROMs.
Supply voltage flexibility and logic-level matching
The 1.71V to 5.5V supply range is the headline BOM decision point. It lets the bridge run directly from a 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, or 5V rail without an external LDO, which simplifies the power tree. The I²C bus voltage follows VCC, so a 1.8V supply means the SDA/SCL lines swing 1.8V — no level shifter needed when talking to a 1.8V sensor. At 5V the bus drives legacy 5V peripherals. That same wide range covers battery-powered gear where the rail droops under load.
Industrial temperature grade and deployment
At 20 mA supply current the die stays cool, but the pad still helps with mechanical stability during reflow.
It is ROHS3 compliant.
