16K x 16 dual-port SRAM — the shared-memory bridge
The Infineon CY7C026A-15AXI is a 256Kbit dual-port asynchronous SRAM organized as 16K words by 16 bits. Its dual-port architecture lets two independent bus masters — two processors, a processor and a DMA controller, or a processor and an FPGA — read and write the same memory array simultaneously through separate address, data, and control ports. This eliminates the arbitration logic and bus-turnaround dead cycles that a single-port RAM requires when two agents need shared access.
The CY7C026A-15AXI carries an official obsolete status. This means Infineon has stopped production, and no last-time-buy window remains open. New builds that require this exact order code must source through the independent distribution channel — surplus stock, factory overruns, or verified broker inventory.
Supply voltage and power rail planning
The 100-pin TQFP draws its core current from the VDD pins; the datasheet's typical active current at 5 V, 15 ns cycle is the figure to use for the power budget. The 5 V I/O levels also mean the bus interface must tolerate 5 V signals — check the processor's I/O tolerance if mixing supply domains.
