64Kbit FRAM with AEC-Q100 — what it is and where it fits
The Infineon CY15B064J-SXE is a 64Kbit ferroelectric RAM (FRAM) organized as 8K x 8, accessed over an I²C bus at up to 1 MHz. It is part of the Automotive, AEC-Q100 series, meaning it is qualified for automotive-grade reliability and operates across -40°C to 125°C. The non-volatile storage combines the write endurance of RAM (essentially unlimited) with the data retention of EEPROM, making it a drop-in for parameter logging, calibration tables, and fault-recording buffers in engine ECUs, transmission controllers, and ADAS sensor modules. Supply range is 3V to 3.6V, matching common 3.3V rail designs.
Lifecycle and compliance
No last-time-buy or NRND notice applies. It is ROHS3 compliant. The AEC-Q100 qualification is factory-documented; no separate screening or lot acceptance is needed for automotive PPAP submissions. The package is 8-SOIC (3.90 mm body width), surface-mount, shipped in tube.
