Dual high-side switch with integrated protection
The BTS5210LAUMA1 is a dual-channel high-side power switch from Infineon, part of the BTS5210 family, designed for general-purpose switching of resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads. It integrates two N-channel power MOSFETs with a 1:1 input-to-output ratio, controlled by a simple On/Off logic interface with non-inverting input. The load voltage range spans 5.5 V to 40 V, covering 12 V and 24 V automotive and industrial bus rails without needing an external Vcc supply.
Fault protection set reduces BOM count
The device includes fixed current limiting, open-load detection, over-temperature shutdown, and over-voltage clamping. These protections eliminate the need for external sense resistors, TVS diodes, or thermal PTCs on each output channel, simplifying the PCB layout and reducing component count. The 110 mOhm Rds(on) at 25°C rises with junction temperature per the MOSFET's positive temperature coefficient, so the 1.8 A per-channel rating assumes adequate PCB copper for heat spreading.
Housed in a 12-lead BSOP package (PG-DSO-12-9) with an exposed pad, measuring 7.50 mm wide. Tape & Reel packaging (Cut Tape option available) supports automated pick-and-place for volume assembly. Surface-mount mounting, with the supplier device package designated PG-DSO-12-9. The base product number BTS5210 covers the family; the LAUMA1 suffix specifies the tape-and-reel quantity and packaging variant.
