Isolated gate driver for IGBT and MOSFET switching
The Infineon 1ED020I12B2XUMA1 is a single-channel isolated gate driver from the EiceDriver™ family, built with magnetic coupling technology to deliver 4500Vrms of galvanic isolation between the input and output sides. It is designed to drive medium-power IGBTs and MOSFETs in inverter, motor-drive, and industrial power-conversion stages where safety isolation and robust switching are required. The output supply range of 13V to 20V matches the typical gate-drive bias for IGBT modules and power MOSFETs, while the 2A peak source and sink current handles the gate charge of devices up to the 200A class without external booster stages.
4500Vrms isolation and 150°C junction — where it fits
The 4500Vrms isolation rating is the key spec for motor-drive and industrial inverter designs that must meet IEC 61800-5-1 or similar reinforced-insulation requirements. The wide-body 16-SOIC package (0.295-inch body width) provides the physical creepage distance needed to sustain that voltage across the barrier.
