A 110 V rail riding at 108 V under load stays below the breakdown threshold during normal operation; the diode only starts conducting when a transient pushes the line above 104.5 V. DO-201 axial package — board integration
The DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package fits through-hole layouts. The 9.87 A peak pulse current exits through the lead wires — the copper cross-section of the axial leads handles the surge without fusing, provided the PCB trace width from the pad to the protected rail is sized for the 10/1000 µs pulse. No power-line protection feature is claimed — this TVS is intended for signal or low-voltage DC rail clamping, not for AC mains primary-side protection where a different coordination strategy is needed.
