Switching envelope: what the ratings mean for the circuit
SPST-NO (1 Form A) — a single normally-open contact rated for 3 A continuous load current. The load side handles 90 VAC to 240 VAC, so it switches line-voltage AC signals (pilot lamps, solenoid valves, small contactor coils) within that range. The relay energises when the DC control voltage is applied; the 3 A rated contact then closes the AC load circuit. The 3 A rating at 240 VAC means the contact can switch roughly 720 VA — enough for a small motor starter pilot circuit or a panel indicator bank, but not for direct motor starting. For a signal relay in a PLC output or interposing relay role, that is the expected duty class.
