125 mA adjustable LDO in an 8-pin DIP
The LT1120IN8#PBF is a positive adjustable linear regulator from Analog Devices, delivering up to 125 mA output current from a 2.5 V to 35.35 V adjustable output range. It accepts an input voltage up to 36 V and drops just 0.65 V max at full load — the headroom needed between input and output is that 0.65 V plus the output set-point. Quiescent current sits at 80 µA typical, with supply current maxing at 100 µA — low enough for always-on rails in battery-powered gear where every microamp counts. The enable pin lets you shut the output down entirely, pulling the supply current even lower when the rail is not needed.
Protection and package for bench and board
On-chip protection covers over-current and over-temperature events — the regulator folds back or shuts down before the die sees damage. The 8-DIP package (0.300" row spacing, 7.62 mm body width) is the classic through-hole footprint that sockets into a breadboard or solders into a prototype PCB without reflow gear. Operating temperature spans -40°C to 100°C, covering industrial and outdoor equipment where the ambient stays below the boiling point. The PDIP body handles manual soldering and rework easily — no hot-air station required for a swap.
