3-phase mobile CPU core regulation for IMVP-2/IMVP-3 platforms
The ADP3204JCP-REEL is a 3-phase buck controller designed specifically for Intel Mobile Voltage Positioning (IMVP-2 and IMVP-3) processor core supplies. It generates a regulated output from 0.6 V to 1.75 V, covering the dynamic voltage range required by multiple generations of mobile CPU cores. Three output phases share the load current, reducing per-phase ripple and allowing the use of smaller external inductors and capacitors — a trade-off that matters when PCB real estate is at a premium in a notebook motherboard layout.
Package and board-fit — 32-LFCSP-VQ 5x5 mm
The package is supplied in Bulk tube — not tape-and-reel — so the pick-and-place feeder setup differs from the reeled variant. Confirm the handling method with your assembly house before the line is programmed.
Rated for 0°C to 100°C operating temperature — this is the commercial range suitable for notebook and tablet ambient conditions. It does not cover the -40°C low end or the extended high end required for automotive or industrial outdoor applications. If the end system sees below-freezing startup, this part is not the fit. The controller is intended for Intel IMVP-2 and IMVP-3 platforms — these are the voltage regulation architectures used in mobile Core 2 Duo and early Core i-series processors. It is not a general-purpose multi-phase controller; the VID codes and transient response profile are tuned to the Intel serial VID interface.
Compliance and lifecycle posture
The ROHS3 compliance covers all ten restricted substances including the four phthalates added in the 2015 amendment.
