Accuracy and sensor topology
The ADM1023ARQ-REEL: Rated ±1°C local and ±3°C remote accuracy, this part monitors both an on-chip sensor and an external diode-connected transistor (e.g., a CPU or FPGA thermal diode) over 0°C to 120°C. The ±1°C local figure is tight enough for system-level thermal management in servers and telecom equipment; the ±3°C remote tolerance is typical for tracking a processor junction without a dedicated thermocouple. The internal topology combines an ADC, comparator, multiplexer, and register bank — no external ADC or comparator is needed. The SMBus output reports both temperature readings directly to the host controller.
Supply voltage and interface
The SMBus interface runs at the same supply voltage, so no level shifting is required when connecting to a 3.3V or 5V host bus. An output alarm pin (ALERT) is provided for overtemperature interrupts — the host can be configured to respond to a threshold crossing without polling the SMBus continuously.
Supplied in a 16-lead SSOP (3.90 mm width) and also specified with a 16-QSOP supplier device package. Both are surface-mount, fine-pitch packages suitable for compact PCB layouts.
RoHS and compliance note
Marked as RoHS non-compliant. For designs requiring RoHS-10 or REACH compliance, verify the date code and request the latest compliance documentation from the supplier at RFQ.
