14-bit precision DAC in a 6-pin SC-70
The AD5641BKSZ-500RL7 is a single-channel, 14-bit buffered voltage-output DAC from Analog Devices' nanoDAC® family. It uses a string-DAC architecture that delivers monotonic performance with ±4 LSB (max) INL and ±1 LSB (max) DNL — the integral linearity error stays within 0.024% of full scale, which matters for closed-loop setpoint generation where the output must track the digital code without missing codes. Settling time is 10 µs to ±0.5 LSB, making it fast enough for most transducer excitation and trim-pot replacement applications. The output is rail-to-rail buffered, so it drives the full 2.7V to 5.5V supply range without an external op-amp. The serial interface supports SPI and DSP-compatible frames — a single 16-bit word loads the DAC register. No readback or daisy-chain capability, but the protocol is standard and works with any microcontroller SPI peripheral.
Industrial temperature range and compact footprint
The reference is supply-driven (no external reference pin), so the output accuracy tracks the analog supply rail — budget the supply tolerance and temperature drift into the system error budget. The differential output is not available — this is a single-ended voltage DAC.
The SC-70-6 package is MSL1 (moisture sensitivity level 1) per the JEDEC standard — no bake required before reflow.
