Device identity and key parametrics
The AD5292BRUZ-50-RL7 is a single-channel digital potentiometer from Analog Devices with a 50 kΩ end-to-end resistance and 1024 tap positions, controlled via an SPI interface. Supply flexibility: operates from a single 9 V to 33 V rail or dual ±9 V to ±16.5 V supplies, covering both single-supply and bipolar signal-chain applications.
The footprint is identical to the tube variant; a BOM swap between the two requires no PCB layout change — only the pick-and-place tape feed changes. RoHS3 compliant per the current Analog Devices compliance documentation.
SPI interface and cascade capability
The SPI interface supports daisy-chaining multiple devices via the cascade pin — a single 3-wire bus can address several AD5292s without additional GPIO for chip selects, though the SPI clock must accommodate the combined shift-register depth. The ±1% resistor tolerance means the end-to-end resistance is tighter than the standard ±20% or ±30% of many digipots — relevant for ratiometric applications where absolute accuracy matters more than the wiper linearity alone.
