Product details

100 MHz CMOS oscillator: MEMS resonator vs a traditional crystal XO

The ASVMPC-100.000MHZ-Z-T: CMOS output drives a standard logic threshold, so it interfaces directly with the clock input on a microcontroller, FPGA, or SerDes PHY without level-translation — the 35 mA max supply current at 100 MHz is the load the downstream devices present to the rail, not a fixed draw of the oscillator itself.

Supply rails and the enable/disable control

The Enable/Disable pin lets the oscillator draw down to 22 mA when the downstream logic is powered down or in a sleep state — a clock tree that gates off its source saves more system power than disabling individual loads downstream.

Temperature grade and package — why the exposed pad matters at 0.90 mm

The exposed paddle under the part is the thermal drain path — the land pattern pad must be connected to a copper plane on the board, ideally through multiple thermal vias, or the part runs hotter than the junction model assumes.
