Transient clamp for 120 V rails
The 1.5KE160CA/B is a bidirectional TVS diode from YAGEO's 1.5KE series, designed to clamp transients on DC power rails or signal lines with a nominal 136 V reverse standoff voltage. The 136 V standoff means the diode stays transparent on a nominal 120 VDC bus, only conducting when a transient pushes the line above the breakdown threshold — it does not load the rail during normal operation.
DO-201 axial package and temperature rating
Housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package, the 1.5KE160CA/B is a through-hole part that solders into a 1.1 mm diameter hole on the PCB — standard for high-surge TVS diodes where the lead cross-section carries the pulse current without trace lift-off.
