Parametric profile and switching-loss tradeoff
The VS-CZH6106FP-M3: Each diode in the common-cathode pair is rated for 30 A average rectified current at a forward voltage of 2.15 V typical at that current. The 90 ns reverse recovery time (trr) places this part in the fast-recovery class (≤ 500 ns, > 200 mA Io), which means the stored charge clears quickly enough to keep switching losses manageable in hard-switched topologies like boost PFC or output rectification. The 600 V reverse voltage rating gives headroom for 400 Vdc bus rails in single-phase PFC stages, where the diode sees the full output voltage plus ringing. Junction temperature spans -55 to 175 °C, so the part can sit on a heatsink in a sealed enclosure without derating at the hot end.
Package and mounting — the isolated fullpak advantage
The TO-3PF (SC-94) is a through-hole fullpak with the backside tab electrically isolated from the die. That means you can bolt it directly to a grounded heatsink without a sil-pad or mica insulator — one less thermal interface to manage, and the thermal resistance stays lower than a non-isolated package with an added insulator. The dual-diode common-cathode layout in a single TO-3PF replaces two separate TO-220 or TO-247 devices in a center-tap or boost PFC stage. The board footprint shrinks, and the thermal coupling between the two diodes is tighter — both die share the same baseplate, so they track each other's temperature more closely than discretes on separate heatsinks.
