The VS-C5PX3012L-N3 is a 30 A, 1200 V fast recovery epitaxial diode (FRED Pt®) from Vishay, housed in a TO-247AD through-hole package. It is a standard diode type, not a Schottky or dual configuration.
Rated 1200 V DC reverse voltage (Vr) and 30 A forward current — this diode is sized for high-voltage bus rails in power supplies, inverters, and PFC stages where the blocking voltage must clear the peak DC link plus transients. Forward voltage drop is 3.3 V maximum at 15 A — the conduction loss at half-rated current is 49.5 W, so the TO-247AD package's junction-to-case thermal path must be managed with a heatsink and forced air for continuous operation. Reverse leakage current is 50 µA at 1200 V junction temperature — this leakage doubles roughly every 10 °C above 25 °C, so at 125 °C junction the leakage approaches 1.6 mA, adding to the thermal budget in high-temperature designs.
Through-hole TO-247AD package with three leads — the centre pin is the anode, the outer pins are the cathode and the case tab is electrically common with the cathode. The 0.100-inch pitch fits standard 0.100-inch grid prototyping boards and power PCB layouts.
