5300Vrms isolation with 10MBd throughput
The VOW2611-X017T from Vishay is a single-channel optocoupler with an open-collector output, rated for 5300Vrms isolation and a 10MBd data rate. It is built for industrial communication links where galvanic isolation must survive high-voltage transients — think motor-drive feedback, PLC digital inputs, and inverter gate-drive status channels. The 25kV/µs common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) means it holds its state through the fast voltage swings on a switching power stage, which is where lesser optocouplers glitch.
25kV/µs CMTI — the motor-drive spec that matters
Common-mode transient immunity is the rating that separates an optocoupler that works in a variable-frequency drive from one that randomly toggles. At 25kV/µs minimum, the VOW2611-X017T rejects the dV/dt from IGBT switching edges. The 100ns max propagation delay (both tpLH and tpHL) is symmetrical enough that pulse-width distortion stays manageable for 10MBd NRZ data. Rise and fall times of 14ns and 7ns keep the output edges clean into a 50mA load.
The 8-SMD gull-wing package (cut tape or tape-and-reel) is a standard footprint for automated assembly.
