Single-channel optocoupler with 3750 Vrms isolation
The Vishay VOM617A-9X001T is a single-channel optocoupler with a DC input and a phototransistor output, housed in a 4-SMD gull-wing package (4-SOP). It provides 3750 Vrms galvanic isolation between the input and output sides, making it suitable for signal isolation in industrial controls, power supplies, and PLC I/O modules where the control side must be protected from high-voltage transients on the field side.
CTR window and switching speed
The current transfer ratio is specified as a range from 200% to 400% at a forward current of 5 mA, giving the designer a predictable gain band for the output transistor — useful for sizing the pull-up resistor and ensuring the output logic level is reached across temperature and device spread. Typical rise and fall times are both 3 µs, with turn-on time of 6 µs and turn-off time of 4 µs, placing this part in the medium-speed class for optocouplers — adequate for 10–100 kHz switching or status feedback in industrial I/O.
