The VOD3120AB-T2 is a single-channel optocoupler with an IGBT/MOSFET driver output, delivering 2.5 A peak output current across a 15 V to 30 V supply range. The 5300 Vrms isolation rating meets reinforced insulation requirements for motor drives, inverters, and industrial power supplies. Common-mode transient immunity is specified at 35 kV/µs minimum, which keeps the output state stable when fast switching edges couple across the isolation barrier in a noisy inverter half-bridge.
Switching speed and timing margins
Typical rise and fall times are 35 ns each, with a maximum propagation delay of 500 ns for both low-to-high and high-to-low transitions. Pulse-width distortion is capped at 70 ns, which preserves the duty cycle accuracy for PWM signals driving the gate. The 1.37 V typical forward voltage and 20 mA maximum forward current align with standard 5 V logic interfaces, so a series resistor from a microcontroller GPIO is sufficient to bias the LED.
