Dual-channel isolation for 5V logic buses
The Vishay VO0631-X001T is a dual-channel optocoupler with open-drain outputs, designed to isolate two independent digital signals across a 4000Vrms barrier while passing data at up to 10MBd. Each channel can sink 50 mA from a 4.5V to 5.5V supply, making it a direct fit for 5V logic-level buses in PLC digital inputs, motor-drive feedback paths, or isolated serial links.
Timing and transient immunity
Propagation delay is 100 ns max for both low-to-high and high-to-low transitions, with a 23 ns rise and 7 ns fall time typical — fast enough for 10 MBd NRZ data without pulse-width distortion eating into the bit period. Common-mode transient immunity is a minimum 5 kV/µs, so the outputs stay clean when a motor drive or inverter switches a high dV/dt across the isolation barrier.
Package and supply rails
The input side requires a forward voltage of 1.4 V typical at up to 15 mA forward current; the output side runs from a single 4.5V–5.5V rail, so no secondary regulator is needed in a 5V system.
Temperature range and compliance
Rated for operation from -40°C to +100°C, the VO0631-X001T covers industrial and commercial environments without derating at the high end.
