400 V PRV bridge for low-power AC-to-DC rails
The MB4M-E3/45: The MB4M-/45: The Vishay MB4M-/45 is a single-phase bridge rectifier in a through-hole 4-DIP package, rated for 400 V peak reverse voltage and 500 mA average rectified output current. It converts AC mains to a pulsed DC rail for low-power supplies, relay coils, and sensor bias circuits.
What the 400 V PRV and 500 mA Io mean for the BOM
The 400 V peak reverse voltage provides headroom for nominal mains voltages. The 500 mA average rectified current covers loads such as relay coils and small fan supplies. Forward voltage is 1 V maximum at 400 mA — conduction loss at full load is about 0.5 W total across the four diodes, which the 4-DIP package can dissipate without a heatsink in still air at 25 °C ambient.
Active production — no LTB clock ticking
For BOM planning, this means no near-term obsolescence risk for a production run.
