5300 Vrms isolation — four channels in one SMD pack
The Vishay ILQ620GB-X009 is a quad-channel phototransistor optocoupler in a 16-SMD gull wing package, rated for 5300 Vrms isolation between input and output. Each channel can handle up to 70 V at 50 mA on the output side, with a current transfer ratio guaranteed between 100% and 600% at a forward current of 5 mA. The input accepts both AC and DC signals, and the transistor output gives you a clean, isolated logic-level or low-side switch signal.
CTR range — what 100% to 600% at 5 mA means for your design
The 100% minimum CTR at 5 mA is the number to design around: it guarantees that with 5 mA in the LED, the phototransistor can sink at least 5 mA on the output. That gives you comfortable margin to drive a logic gate input or a low-power relay coil without extra gain stages. The 600% max tells you the part can be quite sensitive — if your load is light, you may need a pull-up resistor that doesn't let the output saturate too hard, slowing the turn-off. The 3 µs turn-on and 2.3 µs turn-off times (typical) are fine for 10 kHz-ish switching or status feedback; they're not meant for high-speed data links.
Package and mounting — surface-mount gull wing, tube delivery
The tube is the shipping medium — the parts come in a rigid anti-static tube, not tape-and-reel, so plan your pick-and-place feeder setup accordingly if you're running high volume. For a field repair or a small batch, tube delivery is actually easier to handle: you can grab one part at a time without unspooling a reel.
