5300Vrms isolation — what it means for the BOM
Rated for 5300Vrms of galvanic isolation, this part bridges a high-voltage domain (like a 400V bus or a mains-side controller) to a low-voltage control side without a conductive path. That level is common for industrial drives, power supplies, and PLC I/O where reinforced insulation is needed per IEC 60950 or IEC 62368. The 8-SMD package keeps creepage and clearance manageable for a basic or reinforced isolation barrier in a 2-channel layout.
CTR floor and output current — the real selection numbers
That CTR band tells you the output transistor will sink at least 4mA (40% of 10mA) and at most 8mA from the collector supply when the LED is driven at 10mA. The output is rated for 50mA continuous per channel, with a maximum collector-emitter voltage of 70V. For a PLC input or a relay driver, the 50mA ceiling is generous — the limiting factor is usually the CTR at the actual LED drive current, not the absolute output rating.
Temperature band and switching speed
Operating temperature spans -55°C to 100°C, covering industrial and some automotive under-hood zones (though this is not AEC-Q graded). Typical rise and fall times are 2µs each, with turn-on at 3µs and turn-off at 2.3µs — fast enough for 100 kHz-ish switching or for debouncing a 24V DC field signal into a controller input. The DC input type means the LED is driven with a steady forward current, not an AC waveform.
