The Vishay ILD207T is a dual-channel, transistor-output optocoupler in an 8-SOIC surface-mount package. It provides 4000Vrms galvanic isolation between a DC input LED and a phototransistor output on each channel, with a current transfer ratio (CTR) guaranteed between 100% and 200% at a forward current of 10mA. The output transistor is rated for up to 70V collector-emitter, with a typical Vce(sat) of 400mV. This part is designed for low-frequency isolation in industrial control, PLC I/O modules, motor-drive feedback, and power-supply secondary-side sensing where two independent isolated channels are needed in a single compact package.
The 4000Vrms isolation rating is the part's defining safety spec. It means the ILD207T can withstand a 4 kV potential between the input LED side and the output transistor side for one minute (per IEC/UL standards). In practice, this covers reinforced insulation in mains-connected equipment — think AC-DC power supplies, motor drives, and industrial sensors where the control logic must be isolated from the high-voltage power stage. The 8-SOIC package keeps the creepage distance short, so the part is best suited for applications where the isolation barrier is not the primary high-voltage creepage path; for higher working voltages or longer creepage, a wider-body DIP-8 or SOP-4 would be the alternative.
