GSIB-5S through-hole package — board integration note
The 4-SIP GSIB-5S footprint is a standard 4-pin single-in-line package with a 5.08 mm pitch between the AC input and DC output pins. The through-hole leads are on 0.8 mm diameter — the PCB hole size should be 1.0 mm finished for reliable solder fill. The package body is 20 mm long by 4.8 mm wide, so it fits in a compact board edge near the AC input connector or transformer secondary. Tube packaging (50 per tube) is the standard for through-hole bridge rectifiers — the tube protects the leads from bending during handling and feeds into automatic insertion equipment without reel-to-reel conversion.
Active production, ROHS3 compliant
Vishay continues to manufacture this part in the GSIB-5S package, so new designs can specify it without a migration plan. The 10 µA maximum reverse leakage at 200 V and 25°C is typical for a standard silicon bridge — it doubles every 10°C junction rise, so at 125°C Tj the leakage is roughly 160 µA, still negligible for a 2.8 A supply but worth including in the no-load power budget.
