600 V, 3.2 A — the rectifier for a 240 VAC line
The BU1006-E3/45: The BU1006-/45 is a Vishay single-phase bridge rectifier rated for 600 V peak reverse voltage and 3.2 A average rectified output. That 600 V PRV gives you a 2× safety margin on a 240 VAC line (340 V peak) — the diode blocks comfortably through the full sine wave plus switching transients without avalanche stress. The 1.05 V forward drop at 5 A is the conduction loss figure you budget for heatsinking. At 3.2 A average, two diodes conduct at any instant — total dissipation is about 3.4 W.
Reverse leakage and thermal stability
Reverse leakage is specified at 5 µA at the full 600 V blocking voltage. That figure is at 25°C junction — expect it to double roughly every 10°C, so at 125°C junction the leakage is in the low milliamps. For a lightly loaded supply that idles most of the time, the leakage current at high temperature can dominate the no-load power budget. The 150°C maximum junction temperature is standard for a silicon rectifier, but the package thermal resistance determines how close you can run to that limit.
