1500W bidirectional TVS in the TransZorb series
The 1.5KE22CA-E3/73: The bidirectional configuration means a single device handles both positive and negative transients — useful on AC-coupled signal lines or DC rails subject to reverse polarity faults.
Package and thermal envelope
Housed in the DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package, this through-hole device suits point-to-point wiring or PCB mounting where the lead bend radius is controlled to avoid stress cracks in the glass passivation. The 1500W peak pulse rating assumes a 10/1000µs waveform at 25°C ambient. Derate linearly above 25°C per the datasheet curve — at 125°C the peak pulse power drops to roughly 60% of the 1500W figure, so a 900W effective rating is the safe design-in number for high-temperature environments.
No pin-compatible second source is recorded — the TransZorb series is Vishay's own die and passivation process.
