Product details

Transient suppression for 12V automotive rails

The 1.5KE15CAHE3_A/D: Its 12.8 V reverse standoff voltage places it on a 12 V nominal rail, clamping transients at 21.2 V max before the downstream electronics see the spike. The bidirectional structure means a single device clamps both positive and negative surges — useful on signal or power lines where polarity reversal is possible.

Peak current and clamping at 70.8 A

For a 12 V battery line, that translates to a surge impedance of roughly 0.3 Ω — well below the internal resistance of a typical automotive battery during a load-dump event. The DO-201AA axial-lead package (DO-27 equivalent) mounts through a single hole in the PCB or clips into a panel-mount holder, keeping the thermal path short.
