The SN7416N is a hex inverter from the 7400 series, each channel with an open-collector output. That means the output transistor collector is left unconnected internally — you pull it up to your load voltage through an external resistor, or drive a relay, lamp, or LED directly. The sink rating is 40 mA per output, enough for small solenoids or indicator lamps without an extra transistor. Supply range is 4.75 V to 5.25 V, the classic TTL rail. Input thresholds are TTL-compatible: low at 0.8 V max, high at 2 V min. Propagation delay is 23 ns typ at 5 V with a 15 pF load — fine for slow control signals, not for high-speed buses. The 14-pin DIP package (0.300" body width) is a through-hole legacy footprint. It mates with standard DIP sockets or solders directly into plated through-holes.
Temperature grade and operating environment
That covers indoor equipment, benchtop instruments, and office gear. Not for under-hood or outdoor enclosures without climate control.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
ROHS3 compliant. Sourced per RFQ against your BOM quantity — no stock-holding claim, lead time confirmed at quote.
