The STMicroelectronics M48T37Y-70MH1F is a Timekeeper® real-time clock/calendar with a parallel interface, delivering timekeeping in YY-MM-DD-dd date and HH:MM:SS (24 hr) format.

Package reality — the SNAPHAT requirement

This part is supplied in a surface-mount package that requires a SNAPHAT battery holder (sold separately). The SNAPHAT snaps onto the top of the SOIC-like body and contains the lithium cell that keeps the clock running when main power is off.
