Three-phase BLDC driver with integrated power stage
The STMicroelectronics L6229DTR is a fully integrated motor driver from the STSPIN series, combining control logic and a three-phase power stage in a single 24-SOIC wide-body package.
Supply range and output current — sizing the power rail
The load supply (also the motor supply) accepts 12 V to 52 V, so a nominal 24 V or 48 V bus fits without an external regulator. The 1.4 A continuous output per half-bridge is the thermal limit at the package level — actual usable current depends on ambient temperature, airflow, and PCB copper area. For a 24 V BLDC motor drawing 1 A phase current, this part has comfortable headroom; at 48 V and 1.4 A, the thermal pad and via stitching become critical. The supply voltage for the control logic is the same 12 V to 52 V rail, so no separate low-voltage supply is needed for the gate drive.
Active lifecycle — no LTB pressure
If a second-source requirement arises later, the STSPIN family shares the same footprint and pinout across density options — a qualitative cross-reference, not a guaranteed alternate.
