Dual PNP pre-biased in a small SOT-353 footprint
The ROHM UMA5NTR packs two PNP transistors with integrated bias resistors into a single SOT-353 (UMT5) package. Each transistor includes a 2.2 kΩ base resistor (R1) and a 47 kΩ resistor (R2) between base and emitter, which eliminates the need for external resistor pairs in switching and interface circuits. The dual configuration saves board space and simplifies layout in applications like relay drivers, logic-level shifters, and inverter circuits where two PNP pre-biased devices are needed.
Ratings and operating margins
Collector-emitter breakdown is rated at 50 V, with a maximum collector current of 100 mA per transistor. The 150 mW total power dissipation limits the package-level thermal budget — at 50 V the practical continuous current is well below 100 mA unless derated. Vce saturation is specified at 300 mV at 250 µA base current and 5 mA collector current, which gives a clean on-state voltage for 5 V logic-level loads. DC current gain minimum is 80 at 10 mA, 5 V, so the pre-biased resistors are designed to guarantee adequate drive for low-current switching.
