6 mm reflective sensing with phototransistor output
The ROHM RPR-220 is a reflective phototransistor in a through-hole package, sensing at 6 mm distance and outputting via a phototransistor. The 30 V supply and 0.03 A switching current cover typical object-detection and edge-sensing tasks in industrial and consumer gear. The 10 ms response time means it catches moving objects passing at moderate line speeds — a conveyor belt running at 1 m/s moves 10 mm in that window, so the sensor resolves gaps down to about that distance.
Temperature grade and package integration
Rated -25°C to 85°C operating temperature — this covers indoor factory floors, warehouse environments, and outdoor enclosures in temperate climates without active cooling. The through-hole leads hand-solder or wave-solder cleanly; the bulk packaging suits low-to-medium volume assembly runs.
The through-hole package and bulk format mean no minimum order quantity beyond what the reel or tube would impose — suitable for prototype builds and small-series production without excess inventory.
