100 V, 30 A Schottky — low-leakage common-cathode pair
The RB298NS100TL is a 100 V, 30 A Schottky diode pair in a common-cathode configuration, housed in a TO-263-3 (D²Pak) surface-mount package. It is rated for fast recovery (≤500 ns) and targets high-efficiency rectification in power supplies and DC-DC converters where low forward drop and minimal reverse leakage are critical. With a maximum forward voltage of 870 mV at 15 A and a reverse leakage of only 10 µA at 100 V, this part balances conduction loss against standby power — a trade-off that matters in battery-charger and OR-ing diode applications where leakage current at elevated temperature can dominate the thermal budget.
The 870 mV forward drop at 15 A is typical for a 30 A-class Schottky — the actual Vf at the operating current and junction temperature will be higher per the temperature coefficient. The 10 µA reverse leakage at 100 V is the 'super low IR' claim; at 150°C junction (the rated maximum) leakage multiplies significantly, so thermal design must account for the increase. The common-cathode pair in a single TO-263-3 package saves PCB space compared to two discrete diodes and simplifies the layout for center-tapped rectifier or dual-output converter topologies. The exposed tab on the D²Pak carries the cathode connection and must be soldered to a thermal pad for heat sinking.
