Omnipolar Hall switch at 1.65 V — low-voltage battery operation
The BU52098GWZ-E2: The BU52098GWZ- is a CMOS omnipolar magnetic switch from ROHM Semiconductor, operating from a 1.65 V supply rail — low enough to run directly from a single-cell alkaline or Li-ion battery without a boost regulator. It detects both north and south pole fields with a symmetric trip point of ±27.5 mT and release of ±18.9 mT at 25°C, meaning a magnet of either polarity approaching the package triggers the output, and the hysteresis (8.6 mT typical) prevents chatter at the switching threshold. The CMOS output sinks or sources 500 µA max — sufficient to drive a logic-level input on a microcontroller or a low-power LED indicator without an external buffer.
