16 Kbit EEPROM with a wide supply window
The BR93G86FJ-3AGTE2 is a 16 Kbit serial EEPROM from ROHM, organised as 1K x 16 bits and accessed over a Microwire bus at up to 3 MHz. Its supply range of 1.7 V to 5.5 V means the same part works on a 3.3 V or 5 V rail without a level shifter or extra regulator. That flexibility saves a BOM line in mixed-voltage designs.
Temperature grade and package for production boards
The 8-SOP-J package is a common footprint compatible with standard SOIC-8 land patterns. ROHM lists the product status as Active. The part is ROHS3 compliant.
Write cycle time and bus compatibility
Word and page writes complete in 5 ms. That is a fixed timing budget — the host controller must hold the bus quiet for the full 5 ms after the write command. The Microwire interface is a 3-wire serial bus (SI, SO, SK); the 3 MHz clock rate gives a read throughput of about 3 Mbit/s, enough for calibration tables or configuration data.
