What this 1Kbit Microwire EEPROM covers
The BR93A46RFVM-WMTR is a 1Kbit non-volatile EEPROM organized as 64 x 16 bits, accessed through a Microwire serial interface at up to 2 MHz. It is part of ROHM's Automotive AEC-Q100 series, qualified for under-hood and engine-bay temperature profiles from -40°C to 105°C. The supply voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V lets it sit on a 3.3V or 5V logic rail without an external level translator, simplifying the BOM for mixed-voltage designs.
Microwire speed and write-cycle timing
The 2 MHz clock frequency delivers a read throughput of 2 Mbit/s on the serial bus. Compared to the sibling BR93G46FVM-3AGTTR, which runs at 3 MHz but is limited to 85°C and a 1.7V minimum supply, the BR93A46RFVM-WMTR trades 1 MHz of clock speed for a wider temperature range and higher minimum supply voltage — a direct trade for automotive-grade applications.
ROHS3 compliant. No LTB window or successor part has been announced. The 8-MSOP package (0.110" body width, 2.80 mm pitch) is a standard footprint for serial EEPROMs in space-constrained ECU modules.
The 8-MSOP (MSOP-8) package has a 0.65 mm lead pitch and a 3.0 mm × 3.0 mm body. The exposed pad is not present — all eight pins are signal or supply. Decoupling with a 100 nF ceramic between VCC and GND at the pin is sufficient for the 2 MHz clock rate. Surface-mount assembly per standard MSOP-8 land pattern. The narrow pitch does not require via-in-pad; a two-layer board with 0.20 mm trace width handles the fan-out.
