Active 32Kbit I²C EEPROM — BOM-fit for parameter storage
The ROHM BR24T32NUX-WTR is an active-production 32Kbit serial EEPROM organized as 4K x 8 bits, communicating over a standard I²C bus at up to 400 kHz.
VSON008X2030 — 2x3 mm footprint with exposed pad
Housed in an 8-UFDFN with exposed pad (supplier package VSON008X2030), the BR24T32NUX-WTR measures roughly 2 x 3 mm — the exposed pad needs a thermal via or a solder-paste stencil opening to match the datasheet land pattern for reliable solder-joint formation. Supplied on Tape & Reel or Cut Tape, the package is compatible with standard pick-and-place and reflow profiles for 260 °C peak.
Write-cycle timing and bus loading
Page and byte writes complete in 5 ms typical — this is the non-volatile write time; the I²C bus is free after the acknowledge, but the EEPROM holds the next start condition until the internal cycle finishes. At 400 kHz the bus can address up to eight devices on the same two-wire segment (three address pins), giving a total of 256 Kbit of non-volatile storage without additional chip selects.
ROHS3 compliant — no restricted-substance exemptions to track for EU or similar regulatory filings.
