Active production — what it means for the BOM
The BM2P061FK-LBZ: ROHS3 compliant per the listing, so it meets the latest EU restriction-of-hazardous-substances directive without a waiver.
Flyback controller with an 800V integrated switch
This is a flyback topology PWM controller with an internal 800V breakdown MOSFET — the 800V rating gives enough headroom for universal-input (85–265 VAC) offline supplies, including the reflected voltage spike typical in flyback converters. Switching frequency is fixed at 65 kHz, a common sweet spot that keeps the transformer core size manageable while staying below the 150 kHz conducted-emissions threshold for most EN 55022 Class B limits. Maximum duty cycle is 75%, which limits the off-time for the transformer reset — standard for a single-switch flyback running in continuous conduction mode.
Protection set and supply range
Built-in fault protection covers current limiting, over-load, over-temperature, over-voltage, short circuit, and UVLO — the controller latches off or auto-recovers depending on the fault, so the power supply shuts down cleanly without cascading failures. Vcc supply range is 10.9 V to 30 V, with a start-up threshold of 10.7 V — the wide range lets the auxiliary winding power the controller directly after start-up without an external linear regulator. Soft-start control is included on-chip, which ramps the duty cycle gradually at power-up and prevents output overshoot and transformer saturation during the first few switching cycles.
Package and board-fit for a through-hole supply
Housed in an 8-DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) package with 7 leads — the missing pin 8 is the tab or a no-connect, so the 7-DIP-AK supplier device package designation matches the standard DIP-8 footprint with one unused position. Through-hole mounting means it can be hand-soldered or wave-soldered on a single-sided PCB — no reflow profile needed, and the part is field-swappable with a basic iron and solder sucker.
