10V fixed rail — niche voltage, specific fit
The BDJ0GA5WEFJ-E2: The ROHM BDJ0GA5WEFJ- is a single-output positive linear regulator with a fixed 10V output and 500mA current capability. The input range accepts up to 14V.
Dropout and headroom — the 0.9V margin
Maximum dropout is 0.9V at the full 500mA load. That means the input must stay above 10.9V to keep the output in regulation. If your 12V rail droops under load to 11.5V, you have 0.6V of headroom — enough, but tight. The quiescent current is 0.6 mA typical, with a maximum supply current of 900 µA, so the regulator's own consumption is negligible in a system drawing tens of milliamps from the output.
Package and thermal path
The 8-HTSOP-J package is an 8-pin SOIC with an exposed pad (3.90 mm width). The enable pin lets the system power down the rail when the load is idle.
Protection and temperature range
Over-current and over-temperature protection are built in, plus a soft-start that limits inrush. The operating temperature range is -25°C to 85°C.
