800 mA step-down in a small 8-MSOP
The ROHM BD9106FVM-LBTR is a synchronous buck regulator that delivers up to 800 mA from an input rail between 4 V and 5.5 V. The output is adjustable from 1 V up to 2.5 V, covering the low-voltage rails common in portable and embedded designs.
Synchronous rectifier and 1 MHz switching
The integrated synchronous rectifier improves efficiency over a diode-based buck, especially at moderate loads where conduction losses dominate. At 1 MHz the switching frequency is high enough to use a 2.2 µH or 4.7 µH inductor and a 10 µF ceramic output cap, keeping the total solution area tight.
