Fully integrated BLDC fan driver in 8-MSOP
The BD6982FVM-GTR from ROHM Semiconductor is a fully integrated driver combining control logic and a power stage in one 8-MSOP package, designed specifically for brushless DC (BLDC) fan motor applications. Rated for 800 mA continuous output current with a supply and load voltage range of 2.8V to 16V, it covers common 5V and 12V fan rails without an external pre-regulator. The half-bridge output configuration (2 outputs) drives single-phase BLDC motors directly, and the parallel interface simplifies speed control from a microcontroller or PWM source.
Temperature grade and package fit
Operating junction temperature from -40°C to 150°C (TJ) means the driver handles the thermal rise of a confined fan housing plus ambient heat — suitable for industrial equipment enclosures or under-hood airflow systems.
