5.8V threshold for 5V rail supervision
The BD4958G-TR is a single-voltage detector from ROHM's BD49xxx series, with a 5.8V threshold that trips an active-low reset when the monitored rail drops below that level. For a nominal 5V supply, this threshold sits high enough to catch brownout conditions before the downstream logic enters an undefined state, yet low enough to avoid nuisance resets during normal ripple. The push-pull output drives the reset line directly without an external pull-up resistor, saving one component per rail.
The SOT-753 package — also designated 5-SSOP — is a five-pin surface-mount footprint with 0.95 mm pitch, routable on a two-layer board. Compared to the open-drain BD45422G-TR, the push-pull output here eliminates the pull-up resistor, which matters when board space is tight or the reset line must drive a high-capacitance load.
