4.2V threshold, AEC-Q100 — what this voltage detector brings to the rail
The ROHM BD48E42G-MTR is a single-channel voltage detector from the automotive-grade BD48Exx series, monitoring a single supply rail with a 4.2V threshold. The active-low, open-drain output asserts when the monitored voltage drops below that threshold, and releases when it rises above the reset voltage (typically 4.2V plus hysteresis). The open-drain topology means the output requires an external pull-up resistor to the logic supply — the designer chooses the pull-up voltage independent of the monitored rail.

The SC-74A (SOT-753) package, also designated as 5-SSOP, is a 5-pin surface-mount footprint common across ROHM's voltage detector family. The small body saves board area but the 0.95 mm pitch is still hand-solderable for prototype rework.
