What this 9-channel buck controller does on the board
The BD18362EFV-ME2 is a DC-DC controller configured as a step-down (buck) LED driver with nine independent output channels, each rated for 1 A continuous. The 48 V output ceiling and 5.5 V to 60 V input range cover the automotive battery bus from cold-crank through load-dump transients without an external pre-regulator.
Automotive temp grade and the 125°C junction limit
Operating temperature spans -40°C to 125°C, which lands this part in the under-hood ambient band. The 28-VSSOP exposed-pad package (also listed as 28-HTSSOP-B) relies on the PCB copper pour under the pad to pull heat from the die; without a solid thermal via array under the exposed pad the junction will exceed 125°C at full 1 A per channel on a hot engine bay floor.
