Automotive LED controller with PWM dimming
The BD18340FV-ME2 is a DC DC LED controller from ROHM Semiconductor, part of the Automotive, AEC-Q100 series, designed for controlling external power switches in automotive lighting systems. It supports PWM dimming and operates at a switching frequency of 5 MHz, which allows the use of smaller external inductors and capacitors, shrinking the board footprint. With a single output and no internal switch, the controller drives an external MOSFET, giving the designer control over the power stage sizing based on the LED string current.
The 16-SSOP-B package (16-LSSOP, 4.40 mm width) is a surface-mount footprint that fits standard automotive PCB assembly lines.
