Fixed 1.2V rail for low-voltage logic
The BD12KA5WF-E2: The BD12KA5WF- is a fixed-output LDO from ROHM, delivering 1.2 V at up to 500 mA from a 5.5 V max input rail. That 1.2 V is the core supply for many Cortex-M MCUs, FPGAs, and low-power digital ASICs — the kind of rail that needs tight regulation and low noise to keep the logic switching clean. With a PSRR of 50 dB at 120 Hz, it knocks down ripple from a rectified mains or a switching pre-regulator by a factor of about 300 — enough to keep a sensitive ADC reference or a PLL supply rail from coupling 60/120 Hz hum into the signal path.
Hand-solderable package and enable pin
The 8-SOP supplier package designation is the same mechanical outline; the datasheet's land pattern matches the SOIC-8 layout used by countless other LDOs and op-amps. An Enable pin lets you shut the output down to near-zero quiescent current for battery-powered sleep modes.
