What this 12V fixed LDO does on the board
The BAJ2CC0WT is a 1 A linear regulator from ROHM Semiconductor, fixed at 12 V output, in a TO-220-5 Full Pack through-hole package. It takes an input up to 25 V and delivers a clean 12 V rail for loads that need the ripple knocked down — think analog supplies, sensor bias, or post-switcher clean-up on a 24 V bus. With 55 dB of PSRR at 120 Hz, it knocks down the 100/120 Hz ripple from a rectified mains supply by a factor of about 560 — so a 1 Vpp ripple on the input becomes under 2 mVpp on the output. That matters when the 12 V rail feeds an op-amp front-end or an ADC reference buffer.
Why the TO-220-5 Full Pack matters for a field swap
The TO-220-5 Full Pack (TO-220FP-5) is a fully isolated tab package — the metal back is not electrically connected to the die. That means you can bolt it to a chassis or heatsink without an insulating pad, which saves a part and a step on the line. The quiescent current is 2.5 mA typical, with a max supply current of 5 mA — not a micropower part, but fine for always-on rails where the load is in the hundreds of milliamps.
