Switching envelope and conduction losses
The 2SAR583D3TL1 is a 50 V, 7 A PNP transistor in the TO-252 DPak surface-mount package — a common footprint for medium-power switching and linear applications in automotive and industrial controls. With a Vce(sat) of 400 mV at 150 mA base drive and 3 A collector current, conduction losses stay under 1.2 W at that operating point — well within the 10 W power dissipation budget when the copper pad on the PCB sinks the heat. The 230 MHz transition frequency means it can switch cleanly at 1–2 MHz in a buck converter or drive the gate of a larger MOSFET without excessive crossover loss.
Thermal and environmental reach
Rated for 150 °C junction temperature, the device handles under-hood ambient or tight enclosures where the local temperature rises above 85 °C — the die itself has margin. The DPak tab is the collector; the PCB land pattern should match the typical TO-252 footprint with a thermal via array under the tab to pull heat into the inner-layer copper.
ROHS3 compliant — no substance restrictions that would block EU, UKCA, or China RoHS BOMs.
