LIN transceiver for automotive body electronics
The NCV7422MW0R2G is a LIN (Local Interconnect Network) transceiver from onsemi, designed for automotive body-control modules, door modules, seat controllers, and sensor nodes that communicate over a single-wire LIN bus at 20 kbps. It integrates two drivers and one receiver (2/1 configuration), handling the bus-level translation between the LIN protocol controller and the physical 12V battery line, with a supply range of 5 V to 18 V covering both nominal 12 V and cold-crank dips.
Automotive temperature grade and qualification
The 150°C junction rating means the transceiver can be placed directly on a hot engine block or near a turbocharger without derating the bus communication, as long as the PCB copper area keeps the junction below the absolute maximum.
Housed in a 14-lead DFNW package with an exposed pad (4.5 mm × 3 mm), the NCV7422MW0R2G uses a wettable-flank design — the side of the package has a plated surface that allows solder-joint inspection after reflow, a requirement for automotive assembly lines that rely on AOI.
